Resurrected from 2012 Interesting wonder how many have changed rigs and how many have the same ?

My live system is still the same Because I have played everything from venues with good PA systems to bare rooms . Noisy situations to quiet .

For guitar always a Taylor 810CE sometimes with a Taylor 750 12 string also

The electronics consists of a front end being an SKB 6 space Rolling Rack for protection and the the convenience of a rolling rack with a pop up handle like carry on luggage .

With Monster 2500 power conditioner. Then a Langevin DCV "Dual Vocal Combo" Mic Pre, DI EQ and limiter, and last a TC 3000 stereo reverb FX processor
With a pair of Mackie 450 for noisy and Fishman SA 220 for quiet, or just plug the front end into the house system.

Then for vocals I use a AKG emotive C900 /w a Shure Beta 87 as back up , and for guitar a Shure KSM 109 mic for quiet situations, and the Taylor Fishman matrix picup for noisy

I have a very modular and mobile system that I can size to anything from solo guitar in a small coffee shop to a large outdoor wedding reception with many players and singers. I also have off grid power rigged up in my truck for when the run to power is too far away. Too much gear to list.

My next semi live gig is going to be hosting a weekly open mic. I haven't yet decided what to bring. The venue is small, it's on Tuesday evenings and so the crowd will be small. I will be supplying the sound system and so I want quality sound. I'm leaning towards using a single Yamaha DBR12, a Beheringer Eurolive B1200D sub, an Allen and Heath 60-14fx Zed Mixer, a cajon drum, three mics and for my use I'll bring my pedal board. House guitar will be a Takamine GS330s with a Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup. My guitar will be a D18 with a K&K pickup.

Default Live Rig

Guitars: 914 with Sunrise/K&K or 814 Cocobolo with M80/K&K (sometimes use both pickups or often switch between them for different tones).

Amps: Fishman LB Perforer/Fishman LB Artist/ AER 60/3
Vocal: Shure SM58
Pedals: TC Harmony Singer/Onboard Amp effects or TC Chorus/Delay/Diitto 2 or RC3 Looper - Now working with BOSS VE8 to make things more compact- not really impressed with vocal harmonies or lack of flexibility in looping.
Preamps if needed: RedEye Twin/RedEye/SansAmp Acoustic DI on rare occasions...

Like many folks here, after many years of trading, swapping, selling gear, I am foregoing all the trimmings and simply focusing on my dynamics and vocals to highlight the music. I am going for plug and play and skip most of the stuff above except vocal harmony pedal and maybe looper.

With the right balance of mid and bass cut, I can get a fairly good sound out of the K&K pickups without any preamp.

FWIW,
DC

Line6 L2t FRFR powered speaker and either my Martin 000-18 w/Fishman Ellipse pickup or Taylor 322ce w/E2 built in pickup. I'll bring a Boss TU2 tuner so I can mute when I tune, or I have a small SBK powered pedal board that I'll put the tuner and maybe a chorus pedal on if the set list calls for it. I dont use a compressor live, just play. I have an old Mama Bear preamp but these two guitars sound so good straight in, I most often just leave it at home.

Bose L1 Model 2, B2 bass module, ToneMatch mixer
Mics: Sennheiser MD-441s and Shure Beta 58As ... rarely we'll bring the AKG 414s
1977 Guild D-55, and Martin Authentic D-28 37 VTS
Guitar mic: DPA VO-4099G clip-on condenser shotgun
Gibson ES-335 driving a Tone King Imperial Mk II amp
Stands: König & Meyer
Cables: Mogomi Gold and Analysis Plus Yellow Oval

... now, maybe I should learn to play something.

Default What's your live rig?

Martin D-18 with Baggs Lyric or Taylor 314ce with ES 1.3.

Shure SM-58 with everything straight into Carvin Stagemate. That pretty much covers everything I need. The Carvin can even run on battery power for when I play at weddings on the beach.

Oh yeah--almost forgot--Industrial sized tip jar.

Hi Chris,
Is that Barefoot Landing you are at? I am there several times per year and would love to find a few spots to listen to music or jump in at an open mic.

Yep. I played there every Saturday night last summer. I played right in front of Bully's Pub.

Here's another point of view:

More zombie posting:

Pickups:
- mono passive (FRAP, Baggs IBeam, Mtrix passive, I/O, etc) to Raven PMB-1 or one channel of Rane AP-13 to board
- stereo passive to Raven or Rane in stereo and two channels to board.
- Sunrise to Sunrise SB-1 buffer to DI to board.
- Active pickups (barn door stuff) are often straight to either normal DI or PADI to board

Effects (typically just a little reverb) at board.

PA (when I control it) small 8-channel board with effect to 2 x powered speakers. Must have phantom except for situations using the Raven, which doesn’t like it.

All of these configs work in different situations. Listening room stuff gets the passives and good pres, and less time/control of the stage means using either the Sunrise or instruments with barndoor preamps to simplify things and make it easy for the sound person. It’s all situational, and I’m glad I have enough gear to cover the bases.
