Default What will be your next electric guitar purchase?

MaurysMusic.com is considering branching out into electric guitars. What will be your next electric guitar purchase? Those of you who are shopping for an electric - do you also own an acoustic? Thanks for your help!

My next guitar is going to be either a Gretsch or Guild hollowbody.

after I finish my home built jazzcaster possibly a prs 20, but they may not be of interest to you as I am UK based and have just been mugged by import tax on a warmoth neck from USA.

I think I'm set for life with a fine Telecaster and recent purchase of a Collings electric.

My observations have been electric players might be more traditional than acoustic players. I don't see or at least perceive as many small companies known for making their twist on electrics like I do with several acoustic builders we know here.

Without a brick and mortar presence gross sales might do best with well known models at discounts. How about amps at less than "MAP" discounts?

Join Dave's and Wildwood for a rebirth of Fender Thin Skins!

Good luck.

I split time about 50 / 50 between acoustic and electric.

I have a bunch of Fenders (6 Strats, 3 Teles including 3 Custom Shops from the 90's), a Les Paul Custom, a PRS Custom 22 from the early 90's... And, a few others. If I buy another electric, it would be a Tom Anderson Strat style with humbuckers and a spectacular top (quilted maple, koa or walnut). I would also consider a similar Suhr or Sadowsky.

Are you considering a small builder like Anderson or one of the big companies like Fender or Gibson?

Does last Sunday still count as my "next" purchase? Picked up an Epiphone Les Paul 100 to begin to noodle around and develop my skills beyond simple first position acoustic strum work. Enjoying it tremendously. Great little guitar for $200. My next? Probably a Gibson LPJ.

Just bought a MIM 72 reissue - I may now look into a MIA 52 Reissue. Tele's with a humbucker are sweet

I don't really know for sure, but probably a Singlecut PRS. I like the one I played more than about anything I've tried so far. I have an Epiphone LP Standard Plus Top that I really like, when I play it. My playing has been more and more acoustic the last few months.

Gretsch White Falcon 6136DC double-cut - I've been jonesin' for one of these ever since I saw the color shot in the back of the '63 catalog as a kid. Probably custom-order mine with the Cadillac tailpiece and grey-speckled case, double screw-up mufflers if I can get 'em as well...

Most likely one of these - a Guild M75 Aristocrat from their Newark Street Collection:

Either that, or a nice thinline Tele...

Most likely an American Deluxe Strat, or a PRS SE Santana.
