i had to make my own. my parents just didn't understand my destiny to rock an electric guitar so i built one in woodshop. it's my own body design with a fender clone neck and a humbucker from a gibson flying v.
20+ pieces of laminated oak for the body and covered in krylon appliance paint, with a black pickguard, fixed plate style bridge, and chrome, it certainly got it done. don't play it anymore though because i hate fender radius necks. over 30 years later i can still taste the oak dust from making that thing. yuk. took me about 6 months to get my respiratory functions back to spec. |

I bought a Squire Bullet strat last in September just to see if I liked this whole guitar thing. Turns out I love it!

A "Wildfire" by Drive... it came out of a box from a department store. It could have been a Gibson Les Paul, for all I cared. It was awesome! Until I actually bought the Gibson Les Paul and realized that a guitar was much more than a block of wood with strings and random hardware on it... I was fifteen, okay!?
I still have it. Took the black finish off of it, replaced the pick ups with a DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifier, installed a new neck and tuners. I gig it on occasion, just for giggles... but no matter how hard I try, it still sounds like the box it came out of. Oh well. It helped me learn.

A PRS Santana SE.....Its also my only Electric for now. Saving up for sumpin nicer, tho.
All-Mahogany, Dark Green Finish, missing lots of hardware, typical first guitar.... The funny thing is I owned it for 2 years before I actually bought an amp.

Hey Johnny, Welcome to the AGF! A PRS Santana, sounds like a great first guitar. Why is it missing hardware? I take it you bought it used?

mine is described here
Across the street from college was a good music store, I would frequent. It was about 1983 and they had a barely used Gibson Sonex 180 Custom. It's a poor man's Les Paul but with the absolute best electronics (IMO) Gibson ever used (Dirty Finger high output open coil zebra humbuckers, 500K pots, coil tap), solid ebony fingerboard and an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge. I just bought and totally restored one of these and, in fact, its on my Hercules stand behind me right now. I absolutely love this thing.

Ibanez EX Series. Black, 2 humbuckers, 3 position switch. Pretty standard. Also my first ever guitar.

Gibson SG Junior, red mahogany with the black P-90 pickup, 1972, $125. The one guitar (well, maybe there's more) that I really wish I hadn't sold.

Nope that stuff is gone but not forgotten. Wish I did still have as it would be a nice keepsake of my grandma who passed many years ago.

A hand-made Larrivee, crafted from one single piece of wood, equipped with EMGS. Pure heaven. He made outstanding electrics.

Basically the Starcaster Starter Pack Strat that fender makes, but its a PRS. Nicer than most Squiers though. It is in no way a great guitar lol. I did buy it used, and Ive had to replace a lot of stuff on it, but now the wiring is going out so I gotta get a new guitar. looking at the new PRS SE Zach Myers

Davis, that sounds outstanding. I've never played a Larrivee electric before. What's the model?
