Neumann D-01 Martin D28s
Hey,
I have the Neumann D-01 digital, multi-pattern mic ($7499!) here for a while. Yesterday I recorded some tracks and put them up on my server. http://idisk.mac.com/tyreeford-Publi...0D-01?view=web The first thing I hear on my big studio monitors is a definite percussive nature to the finger picking. When a finger plucks a string, I can feel it in my chest. I don't think I've heard this before in any of my recordings. Do you hear what I hear? Have you run into this before? Thanks, Ty Ford |

Well I listened through my Adam Audio nearfields and sub, decent gear.
All I hear is a really nice saturated recording of a warm Martin dread. Lots of detail by I can't really say I hear percussive finger picking, but I'm also not sure what I'm listening for (what you mean), but I'm not listening at a high enough volume to get "chest thumping". The wife just went shopping, I will switch it up a few db and get back.............

OK, at volume it has some percussion to it. Whether it's that fancy microphone or just a nicely saturated track I don't know. But I like it.....
