Default How to clean up dirty power?

I had a gig Friday night and my amp sounded great. At church, I get a bit more hiss. I think it's because the power is dirty. Is there anything I personally can do to clean that up? I don't know if the church wants to revamp their power outlets.

Dirty power? Sounds like witchcraft to me!

Could be a lot more signals going about the church. I know at one stage I was picking up some very weird stuff from the hearing-aid loop ring system in a building as well as some good old crackly dirty sounds coming from someone's cheap wireless headset monitor. Another time I was somehow getting the latest football results from the local radio station through the speakers..... haven't figured that one out yet.

Changing any old leads for some well protected ones might be a good idea.

Not an expert by any stretch but other threads have indicated there are a number of external factors that can affect your sound including florescent lighting. I don't know that it would fix your problem but have you thought about trying an audio power conditioner. Like most electronics you can spend a little or a lot. Here is an example: http://www.furmansound.com/

What if I only wanted to spend a little? Also, I don't have a rack, so I'd be looking for a different option..

Most power conditioners I've seen are rack mounted but looks like Furman also makes a compact model. Here is one that I found that is fairly cheap: http://www.buy.com/prod/furman-sound...206179473.html
