Congratulations!! I've had the same US made Fender Telecaster new in 1988, but it never delivered either the sound/snap, twang or ease of play I was looking for. So finally, I arranged a good deal on a new American Special ed. telecaster w/ rosewood neck and matching color headstock. What a terrific improvement in sound and playability. I feel like I've finally joined the club, albeit 30 years later!
Newer Fender models are outstanding!

Cool. Where did you find one with the matching headstock?

Yeah it worked. And yes that is my Martin HD 28 custom in the back ground. I keep it in the den close by and grab it when a song comes on tv I want to play with.

Photobucket doesn't work as good for me as earlier, but here's a couple pics I took when I first opened the box. Shockingly owning it hasn't made me able to play like Vince Gill. but, I'm working on it! It's everything I could expect and I love it. I've been working on two string shapes and "That's the Way Love Goes" solo.

My main guitar for the last 20 years has been an American Standard tele. Great choice.
