Default PSA : Blackstar tube distortion pedal deal-of-the-day

I recently did a lot of reading and research and was considering one of these pedals but they are $200 and for the electric sub-section of my hobby I couldn't justify it. GC has these (today only) for $75! which is not a hype or fake sale - this is a screaming deal (pun intended).

I bought one without hesitation and will report back here.

It's a big pedal and has its own big power supply,l so it won't just snap in to your normal pedal board, but if you want some tube amp sound and don't have a tube amp (like me) it might be a good alternative.

I've been using an MXR Super Badass distortion pedal which is a good pedal too, but this takes it up a whole other notch and I paid the same price for my used SBA pedal.

Thanks I'm getting one, I've never seen the Guitar center Daily Pick before. So thanks for two things!

It's quite the Brick! Nothing new to me though as I have a seymour duncan twin tube unit which is both larger, and heavier. Great sounding high gain unit which doesn't duplicate anything I currently own. I haven't spent the time to dial anything in, but with everything but the gain at 12 o'clock, it is "stage ready".

Unless you are going for extremely brutal tones, I can't imagine going past 12 on the gain, and it has wonderful hard rock tones from 7 to 9 o'clock.

Haven't investigated the Infinite Shape Feature (ISF) much, but the intent is to alter the clipping to give "USA" or "British" tones. As always throw that concept out the window, and just rely on your ears. It definitely alters tone in a very useable way. Similar concept as the "cut" feature on my boogie amp. I honestly like it set to neutral. If I use it at all it has ended up at 9 o'clock. I like a more articulate phrasing, which is considered USA.

Definitely a steal at the deal of the day price. Assuming it lasts that is.
