It's interesting that opening this thread again I was looking at the pictures a second time and noticed the 13 fret joint which I hadn't noticed the first time. Then I scrolled down and saw it was mentioned in the new replies. I thought long and hard about going 13 fret as well. In the end I decided to keep it the same as my other 14 frets.

Looking at the pics a second time also made me think this is a truely beautiful guitar. Not sure what it is about it, maybe that beautiful walnut mixed with the awesomely subtle bindings. Whatever it is this might be one of my favorite Halcyons. Simple and beautiful.

Very nice! The black walnut is gorgeous.

I'll be getting my Halcyon in the next few days.

Just curious as to the waiting list time at this point for a similar guitar?

Thanks,

I'm fortunate to have one of these beauties as well! Mine has mahogany back and sides, however.

I scored a Parlour guitar from Ed a while ago which has become the ultimate travel-guitar for me, and have had the Nick Lucas for a few weeks now. There is truly something unique and special about these... congrats and enjoy!

Hmm...

I was going to stay behind the scenes on time frame, but we're thinking 4-6 months presently as a guesstimate. It is difficult to be more precise. Strangely enough, the unforeseeable seems to be unforeseeable...

Default Nick Lucas Special History

I'm not sure if it's more awesome craftsmanship by Ed or the fantastic photography, but these is def the most incredible looking Halcyon yet! Great work. Would love to hear more about the tone .... congrats on a magnificent instrument.

John (psycho) and others who are interested in the odd Nick Lucas guitar, here is a great brief history from Fretboard Journal website (free).

Congrats on your new Halcyon! It looks great. As others have said your description of it's voice is spot on and especially to mine which is a deep body OM in lutz / flamed walnut. I absolutely love it's sound and it's simple but beautiful appointments!

Sometimes there can be delays...I'm sneaking up on 11 months on mine. Hope to hear some news about progress soon...
