12-string guitars with a 1 7/8" nut?
One of the things that I find to be more important concerning the playability of 12-strings in the spacing between the courses. So what are some 12-strings that feature a 1 7/8" nut?

Taylor's default nut width for their 12-string guitars is 1 7/8ths inch, from the least-expensive 150e all the way up to their most-expensive PS56ce.

confirm that
NOTP is right
My Taylor GA3 12 is 1 7/8 at the nut. An easy playing 12 string by the way. Doesnt have the big jangly tone of a Guild or Martin, but it sure is friendly to the fretting hand. |

Seagull's Coastline S12 is ever so slightly wider at 1.9" (roughly 1-29/32"). I believe all the Godin brands 12 string nut width is 1.9".

Many, if not all Ovations have a 1-7/8th nut.

Simon & Patrick is 1.9". It's a great neck with lots of room.

1 7/8 feels like the perfect width for a 12 string neck. I have to be honest that I never remember playing a 12 string that I felt had a width too far from that. It's normally the depth (fatness) of the neck that gets to me...

I'd say 1 & 7/8" is the minimum nut width. I did have a Del 'Arte with a 2" nut which was fine - no wider than a classical.
My D12-20 is 1 &7/8" and Ok as long as you keep your fingernails really short. |

12-string guitars with a 1-7/8" nut?
Both my Art & Lutherie 12-string dread, and my Martin D12-35 slope have 1-7/8" nuts. I owned a 12-string many years ago with a 2" nut and it was difficult to play.

I think anything other than 1 7/8 would be an anomaly, not the norm.

I guess my lack of experience with 12-strings is showing.

My Goodall 12 string has a 1 31/32" nut. I also play classical guitar, so I find this very comfortable.

I like the old Guild 1 13/16. I think they're now 1 7/8.
