Smile SOLD ON REVERB. DPA 4099 guitar mic.

SOLD!!!

Hey gang. I am selling a very nice DPA 4099 clip on mic for guitar.

I HAVE TALKED A COUPLE AGF FOLKS OUT OF THIS FOR ON STAGE USE. SIGH... IMHO, best for studio unless you sit very still like a classical player. BUT THE SOUND IS MIND BOGGLING. see the video with Sting, below.

Includes the hard case, soft bag, manual, etc. everything it came with in fine shape!

I had visions of using it on stage, but it does not like to share space with my harmonica holder! And I move too much as well.

But it is wonderful in the studio.

I have had it six or seven years and used it a couple times for recording. The rest of the time it has sat in my gear room in its groovy case...

Someone should be using it. It sounds spectacular!

Link to Sweetwater with nice video of Sting's orchestra using these:

They seem to be selling New for over $600, and worth it.

Asking SOLD shipped.

I can email pics if wanted. Can not get them up on AGF from my iPad... sigh

Any help with pics always appreciated!

Any questions fire away....

Cheers

Paul

A bit of unbidden advice:

Relying on the DPA 4099 alone might present live issues at higher volumes. That depends on many factors. But, dual sourcing the mic with a transducer or soundhole pickup allows players a flexibility to overcome any such challenges easily. As for effective mounting, there's a bit of a learning curve. Sure, if you're playing guitar 'hero' with an acoustic, and you care for extremely accurate sound, the DPA 4099 might not be the ticket. But then.........

That said, I am one would like to see DPA come up with a better piece of mounting hardware for the "G" permutation of the 4099 series mics. I have modified my own to make it match my purposes, but there is room for them to do even better, I am sure.

Default Good points, Tad

Hey Tad

I considered modifying the mount with gaffers tape...Haha, but I usually use two guitars, in different tunings. And as I said, it does not appreciate sharing space with my harmonica rack.

I found it sounded fine on stage at lower volumes but I play solo and do not have to compete with other instruments, except my own harmonica, vocals and foot percussion...

SOLD on Reverb. THANKS AGF

Cheers
