Where to find a good deal on a new (or gently used) Guild Starfire III?
I was interested in buying one as my electric rhythm guitar (my other electric is rather shreddy by nature), and also as my electric solo singer guitar when I don't feel like using an acoustic/electric.
Are there any places aside from ebay where they're likely to pop up for under $1000? I'd prefer new but gently used is just as good. I prefer to put the scratches and dents in myself.

I'd pay the extra $100 or so and buy brand-new; with the transition going on at Guild the status of anything other than their bread-and-butter acoustic line is extremely uncertain, and you may not be able to get one at all in a few weeks/months. BTW, if they do in fact go out of production you might just want to keep it as pristine as possible in the intetest of potential resale value...
