Praise for non-RWRP Strat middle pickups!
Had several months now with my first Strat pickup set with a non-RWRP middle pickup (David Allen Tru-62's) and I must ask, "WHERE has this been all my life?" I finally have a Strat with a middle pickup I enjoy using, and I have never heard sweeter "quack" in positions 2 and 4. I notice no real increase in single-coil hum, and what is there is easily forgetable given the wonderful tone. I still love my Fat-50's pickups for certain situations, but when I want to get my "Knopfler" on there is no contest, the non-RWRP set wins out! Interested in other folks thoughts on non-RWRP middle pickups.

Hey Russ, great review. Sounds like you like the David Allen pickups mostly for positions 2-3-4? Are positions 1 and 5 as good as your '50s set ... or simply different for different applications?

reverse wound/reverse polarity. I'm sure Russ can explain it much clearer than I can but it deals with hum canceling, I believe in positions 2 and 4.
