Default K & K mini install question

Love the Mini and have it in all my guitars. Looking at a pre-owned guitar that has one installed but it has the miniature plug--the no drill option--that requires a transition cord.

Is this reliabile? If i want to drill it out and put in a full size plug can I still use the guts of the pichup?

Yes, and yes - the only real complaint with the mini jack is you have to keep track of the adapter, and if you want to change it out to a standard jack, its pretty simple. In fact, the hardest part (as usual) is cleanly reaming out the endpin hole -

It's called the "Vintage jack" and sold by "Tapastring". They also sell a cord with an angled 1/8" jack to connect with the guitar.
