USA. State of Minnesota (MN) in the upper midwest part of the country. Within MN, central north. If I look back in my family I find Canada (including pre-Canada when it was still New France), SE France and Scotland.

From the UK and having been a member of this forum for a couple of years I'm loving the fact that chatting to people here is generally blind to the fact where they are from.

It's helped shelve a few spectres of petty and unfounded prejudices!

I live in Sussex, south of London and near the coast. After 20 years living in Brighton (by the sea) I've 'retired' to the countryside a bit north of Lewes. But I'm still only 30 minutes from Brighton, where it's a pleasure going to see what's happening on the busking front on the streets there. Unusually for most towns, a lot of it is highly interesting.

Just an American mutt (Irish, Italian, German, English... and only God knows what else!)... New York City born and raised (actually, Richmond Hill, Queens)... currently living in central New York (in and around Syracuse) for the past 18 years... Definitely an I Love NY kind of guy! I also have traveled a bit... and love the whole rest of the world, too!

Like Dave, I have ancestors who escaped religious persecution in Europe, in their case from France. We have lots of strong family ties to South Carolina, where they first came to North America, but I was born and raised in Kansas City. I came up to Alaska on a music tour in 1982, liked it, married a local farm girl and have been here in the Anchorage area ever since.
