Default 1995 Alvarez

Hello,

I bought my first steel string guitar in 1995. It was an Alvarez and I paid $400 for it.

I have not been able to find a similar Alvarez on the Internet. Does anyone recognize it? Would you have more information about it, such as country of manufacture, woods, etc.?

Here are the pictures:

Thanks!

I would recommend sending your photos to St. Louis Music , (the Alvarez owner and distributor for the US).

Here is a link to their website:

http://www.stlouismusic.com/

Go to the bottom of the page and click on the contact button. They are good guys and have helped others here identify older Alvarez guitars.

Architype,

I did as you suggested, but I get the following error:

Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way.

Would you have their direct e-mail address?

Thanks!

Default 95 Alvarez

What's printed on the tag in the sound hole? Or maybe on the headblock?

Prefessional Alvarez
Serial No. 99595 (I think)
Model No. 5022

I've googled Alvarez 5022, but none of the models that appear look like mine. This is what has puzzled me!

Thanks.

Looks like AnthonySNB, (above), has the better contact info. Keep us posted and let us know if you hear anything from them.

I'll share with you my findings as soon as someone responds.

What do you mean by "straight headstock"? The pictures don't show it, but the headstock is angled with regards to the neck, just as any other acoustic guitar.

Regards,

It's a "Herringbone Professional" (Glenbrooke). Solid spruce top. They were discontinued in 1998. Nice little guitar.

Bad Poppa,

Thanks! It's good to know it was a good investment. I really like the way it sounds. It's not the easiest guitar to play (the strings feel stiffer than usual), but it has a great sound.

I have it hanging on my living room wall. It is my work horse. I play it almost every day, even if just a tune or two.

Best regards,
