New original song - A Complicated Man

Hi all

I've been pretty busy lately, and haven't had much time to check in and say hello here, but I've got a lighter schedule now, so until I'm leaving for Thailand on holiday in 14 days, () I've got time to participate and comment on the excellent songs by you guys again.

Also, I've finally got time to complete a number I've been working on for months.

It's inspired by a guy I read about on the website Darwin Awards, which have some funny, tragic and true stories of real life people who does incredible stupid things.

This guy stole some weather balloons on an airfield, tied them to a garden chair, grabbed a six pack of beer and took off up in the air...

I wrote this song, musing on what else he might have been up to in his life, and what kind of man he might have been.

It's very tongue in cheek, and it's got a nice groove to it, if I say so myself..

My partner in crime, Peter, helped out on second guitar.

Yeah, the Darwin Awards is an excellent site, it never cease to amaze me how stupid man can be.
(Myself included occasionally).

I believe there's enough stories on that site to inspire hundreds of songs..

You did it again. I really like what you guys are doing. I've noticed that Fagen from Steely Dan enhances his range with backup singers when he gets to the chorus. He has that signature talk-singing sound for the verses, then two ladies and a tenor jump in much of the time on the chorus. Keep 'em coming.

That high pitched voice is actually a guy.
A good friend of mine happened to be visiting while I was working on the song, and he spontaneously started singing in that high voice.
I didn't even know he could do that.

Of course, I asked him to do it again for the recording.
