Post "Forever Young" on my beloved

I received this build this past February after an endorsement agreement with John Jr. and after probably 70-100 gigs it has really begun to open up. I can't wait to hear how it sounds in a year or 10. This guitar means an immense amount to me as I've owned probably 6-8 l-bodies and this one has a special shimmer and feel in my hands I've grown to appreciate more with each gig. I hope to pass it on to my future son, Dylan, (or Delilah!) hence getting DF engraved at the 12th fret.

Normally prefer medium gauge strings on this guitar for sheer power but threw on some lights and it just sang to a gentle touch...had to do a video This arrangement is based on Martin Tallstrom's, I highly recommend looking him up, he's a A1 player reminiscent of Tommy Emmanuel but a little less flashy.

Hope everyones having a great Monday

-DF

Beautifully done, Dustin! That really sounded terrific, and a very nice rendition of Martin Tallstrom's arrangement! Well done!

This is really awesome. Reminds me of what a great song it was. Question how long did it take you to learn, if I'm intermediate and wondering how long it would take me to tackle

Thanks guys, I learned this by watching Martin in his video. He's in DGDGBD tuning. It's actually fairly straightforward..he uses the open D for a lot of the melody phrasing. Hope this helps!

Beautifully done! Fantastic sounding guitar! I really enjoyed it. I remember purchasing the CD when it was released while I was working overseas and it has remained one of my favorite songs on my iTunes playlist.

Well as expected, I actually heard you playing this yesterday on your youtube channel (didn't see this post here) and yes immediately it reminded me of Tollstroms versions, it's actually the only real good version of this song I found arranged for guitar but I never learned it because It takes too much tuning for my taste hehe never played open tuning, standard tuning is giving me enough troubles so far so I don't have the urge hahaha if I buy a new guitar than I'll use the old one to keep her in open tunning

and yes, you played great, GL!
