OK, no joke. This very song was running through my head not ten minutes ago while watching tv and I started planning possible arrangements if I were to cover it. What are the odds?

Nice job!!! Your picking is very clean and you run through certain parts more smoothly than I can. Obviously a cover does not not have to be identical to the original, but I noticed that at around :32 you did the descending bass line without the repetition that Gilmour uses. I like the repetition because it builds a little tension. That said, I really liked this. Thanks for posting!

Thanks! appreciate it. I know the part you mean... I followed a tab. You're right he does repeat the D in there, I've just gotten in the habit of playing without it. EDIT: Doh, Just realized something, I'm not just missing the D note, I"m also missing 2 beats in there...

Know my dynamics went kind of wonky in a couple of spots - those moments of 'whoa, almost lost' where you're happy just to get the notes. I need to practice it a bunch more.

Chris

Have never grown right-hand nails - Tommy Emmanuel doesn't have 'em, so should we?

No worries--David Gilmour never has, either.

That's one of my favorite songs. Also happens the first song I ever figured out by ear. Gilmour plays it with a pick (I heard it was cork) on a nylon string guitar. I play it both fingerstyle and with a pick but like the pick better.

Try playing it with a metronome. It will help keep your timing more consistent and slow it down just a bit.

Nice job.

Default Great Job!

Looks like you have really been working on this and you know the song really well. Fingernails or no fingernails, it really doesn't matter. Just preference. What I ask my guitar students when playing an arpeggio is, "Are you relaxed?" If you are clinching your jaw or there is tension anywhere in your body, it comes through in the guitar. You sound as if you are tense during some portions of the piece. Make absolutely sure that you are relaxing at those particular points in the song. If you cannot relax yet, you really are not finished learning the song. Make sense? You have the song down in your mind. That is clear from the video. However, feeling comfortable enough to play it in front of the camera is another thing entirely. Believe me, I have the exact same issue with every piece I work on. So get comfortable and consciously relax, then film another video and you will hear a huge difference! Great job so far though, sincerely!!! Keep it up my brotha!!!

Sounded really good. This is the first song I play when I warm up.
It's my Swanne River if there are any Honeymooners fans out there.

The odds are much higher than you'd think...

It's called synchronicity. It's pretty much how the multiverse works.

Very cool cover!

Good job! I have an issue when I try and record myself, I can never keep from screwing it up somehow... Maybe I'm too picky
