If it follows the recent L1 specs like the Robert Johnson L1, the lower bout should fall in around 14 inch’s wide. Gibson usually specs a 1.72 inch nut width on most all their current models. The Keb Mo being an exception at 1.8 inches at the nut.

Ok, thanks,

I'd quite like one of those Keb Mo's

Those Keb Mo models are nice. But man, the prices have gotten out of control in the last few years. I asked a sales rep if he could get some firm measurements on the new L1 f hole. He measured the nut width at 1.75 inch but the spec sheet does show it at 1.725. Still waiting to hear back on the lower bout width. The depth is about 4 inches.

So here are the basic measurements, according to a dealer who has thes in stock already. 1.725 nut width, 9 3/4 inch upper bout, 13 3/4 inch lower bout, 4 inch depth, with a VERY slight arch on the top and back.

I agree. Gibson and even Martin for that matter, have gotten completely out of hand in their pricing. I am a fan of both these manufacturers but pricing seems way out of hand these days. I guess as long as we are willing to pay the price to play them, manufacturers will be more than happy to lighten our wallets with more and more enthusiasm....
