This is true for all ES versions.

Thumbs up ! Source Audio Programmable EQ !

I'm building a rig that has a T.C. Helicon VoiceLive 3X MFX unit at it's base

, into it I will pump a :
  1. Shure 520D Green Bullet HiHz Harp mic into the guitar input
  2. Acoustic Electric Dread Steel or Acoustic electric 000 Nylon Spanish Classical
  3. Electric bass guitar
  4. Electric guitar

I'll need to EQ each instrument going into the MFX unit . I will also need to use a Radial Engineering
4 instrument selector switch .

These units will do exactly that for me on the fly with the stomp of a switch .

Radial's auto scroll of the instruments is a unique ease of use on selecting one of four instruments , if you only use
2 instruments it will toggle between the 2 instruments and skip the empty slots .

The Source Audio Prog EQ can auto scroll all of the 4 programmable presets as you play , you can determine how
fast they scroll too , it's a great sounding feature/FX in and of itself as it plays all 4 presets one after another as you
play your instrument .

EZ :

I use an Empress ParaEQ. It's semi-parametric on three bands with a adjustable Q (narrow, medium, wide).

Source-Audio Four-Channel Programmable EQ.

Four channels with individually programmable volume and 7-band EQ, I have two channels set up for two guitars, one channel for my mandolin, and I have one spare channel. Holding down the footswitch controls scrolling through the channels, or a short press operates bypass on/off.

Sits nicely in my (pretty simple) pedal board...

None.
I EQ on the fly by adjusting the position and direction of my tiny highly-directional DPA condenser shotgun mic on its gooseneck.
No pedal to reach down to to adjust.

Only 2 downsides ...
It's pricey at $619 (though you only need one since it moves between guitars in 10 seconds) and I use a bit of gaffer tape over the clip so I don't knock it on the floor.

The fidelity is astonishing!
It sounds exactly like your acoustic guitar!!!!!!!
Zero Quack!
I'm so spoiled.

Here it is on my Martin Authentic 28A 37 VTS, which I couldn't bring myself to drill a hole into to install a PU.

I use the two digital EQs (six band graphic EQ and two band parametric EQ) in the Zoom A3. I can use them in series when needed. In addition to those EQs, the A3 also has a manual 3 three band EQ for "quick and dirty" adjustments.

I also still use the old Boss GE-7 on occasion.

Fire-Eye Red-Eye DI. The single Treble control is all I need.

Thanks for the Whirlwind link. I found the information page on constant Q frequency bands (irregardless of the amount of cut or boost) very interesting.

speck asc . I have two they are 1/2 rack units.
so two fit side by side in 1 rack space.
these are studio grade eqs . i use them for
live sound . for mandolin and guitar.
they seem quite road worthy. if you
take the time and wait for them to come
up used you can find them for 300.
