Perhaps youtube commenter Nicolas Ruvalcaba said it best:

I have 7 tube amps. A couple of old Fenders, Top Hats some others. What I've found is that I always kind of go for "my tone" and no matter what I use the sound will only be so much different. Still it's nice to go from an old Fender and then back to a Marshall or Vox style amp. If you have an amp that you really love but get bored with it I say keep it. You may regret selling it after the fact. There are a lot of amp bargains out there and the difference between a great amp will make a bigger impact on your tone than having a dozen Strats or Les Paul's.

I NEVER get bored with my amps.

I have a good variety of amps on hand.

My Tube Amps:

'65 Fender Blonde Twin Reverb (Conversion)
'66 Fender Pro Reverb
'66 Fender Princeton Reverb
'73 Fender SF Deluxe Reverb
'73 Fender Vibro Champ Piggy Back
'75 Fender Champ
'76 Fender Vibrolux Reverb
'83 Boogie MKIIC 60/100,EQ,Reverb Head
'84 Boogie MKIIC+ 60 watt combo
'84 Boogie MKIIC+ Simul-Class loaded
Bubinga/Wicker combo
'05 Vox AC30CC2
'08 Brown Note D'Lite 44 "ODE" Head
'10 Hermida 1x12 openback G12H-30 loaded
'14 Mesa Boogie Roadster Dual Rectifier 2x12 Combo.

I actually just picked up the Boogie Roadster this Friday.

I was making my daily rounds at the pawnshops and found it alone in the back of the store.

I freaked when I saw they were asking $405 for it. Crazy!

I'm a seasoned haggler so I told them I'd pay cash and would take it for $400 out the door.

The manager looked at the computer for about 10 minutes and said the best he could do was $400+ tax.

I told him if that's all he could do, then I guess I'd have to be happy with that.

I really didn't need a new amp with all the others in my collection, but there was NO WAY I was going to pass on it.

Here's a couple of pics of my new addition :

The roadster is what I call the "star trek bridge" of amps, a tweakers dream.

It's nice to have 4 different amps in 1.

Nice to be able to get 4 individual settings and not have to share the EQ,Reverb and wattage settings.

This is really the most versatile amp I own.

LOTS and LOTS of tones can be found here.

It really is a "Tweakers Dream".

Well I am still using my '72 Fender Twin that I bought in 1990 regularly with the band but I do know what you mean. I recently pulled out my old Mesa Boogie Studio .22 and was quite wowed by it's tone.

I have it's little brother, the Mark V 25. It really is a great amp. I know some people have strong negative opinions of the cabclone, but that is easily my favorite feature.
