Default At Least I Know This Is Not a Joke

Several months ago, Elderly had one of these things listed for $12,000. I thought it was a joke but it is apparently a highly sought after musical instrument. They must have thought they let the other one go too cheap as this one is $15,000.

This one is tuned to some obscure Asian scale. Made by a small shop in Switzerland the early 2000's. Maybe we need a sub-forum for them.

Default Hang

I saw a street performer playing one of these in Amsterdam last time I was there. Very interesting sound, but I'm amazed at the price.

Sounds awesome! But more importantly what type of string spacing does it have? Because if it's not 2 1/3.21876351" I'm not buying it.

You can get an electric model on Amazon for less than $100.00.

Maybe after a few tokes in a sidewalk 'cafe' the sound would be interesting for a few minutes. Boredom would set in pretty quickly, for me. I have a small wooden African? instrument with little metal tines that you pluck that sounds similar, just less sustain and resonance. Was given to me by a friend way back, for some reason. I think it was pretty cheap. I've saved $15,000! Feels pretty good.

Naw, I prefer the acoustic version. Personally I wouldn’t pay 15k if the legs weren’t included...

Maybe the 12K to 15K ones at Elderly are Pre-War models?
