Default Is a headstock repair worth it or not?

Supposedly Epiphone accoustic guitar headstocks has been a 'common' repair issue, as such is it worth having it repaired or just buy another brand? Money wise what is the average cost to have this repair worth it setting aside personal & sentimental values we might attached to it!??

If it's a $1 Epiphone then no.

If it's a $1,000,000 Epiphone then yes.

It's probably somewhere in between.

If you do it, get someone good. I had a cracked headstock on an Epiphone Dot repaired by a local guy and it was never right. The sad thing is I now know of 4 or 5luthiers in Portland that could do it and do it right.

Find out how much and see what you could buy a good similar used guitar. Look at the difference in cost.

More so a Gibson design flaw than an epiphone flaw but it all depends on th the particular instrument and severity imo.

Repair cost in my locality is anywhere from 90 to 400 dependant if it needed splines, backplates or so forth, should be a pretty comparable price to a local luthier doing it.
