Default Thoughts on guitar humidity cabinets?

I have been thinking about these . They are not cheap.
Anybody here own one . Any problems with mold.?
I would think the potential for mold is there. I use those
oasis soundhole things now but wonder
if these cabinets are worth it??

I built one using an Ikea glass door cabinet.

Inside I have 1 kg of a product called "Music Sorb", which is a bag of pellets that are designed to keep the cabinet between 40-60% humidity. In the summer months, it keeps it right at about 50%.

I also have a "Cigar Oasis" humidifier that run in conjunction with it in the winter months (because i found that it actually would go down to 35%). That Cigar Oasis humidifier has a setting where it'll shut off at a specified setting. It works perfectly. I fill it with distilled water approx every 2-3 weeks. No mold issues, and i've been suing this system for about 2 years. The whole thing cost about 400 bucks to build.

I have two. One from AccessNSight and the other from Ozark Valley Displays. I've never had any problem with mold. The one from AccessNSight is especially air tight and the humidity never varies. The other cabinet came with a built in humidifier which has since quit working so I just rely on my room humidifier to control my humidity (the whole room humidifier is better for my health as well). All my guitars are happy year round.

You need to create an account on that forum to see them. I can’t figure out how to post pics here. I wish you could directly upload pics to this forum
