My source says similar to M-36 except figured maple back/sides/neck.
Made 1985 to 1995. Last MSRP $2520 M body type 16” lower bout, 4 1/16” depth. 5 stripe bound body/rosette Ebony fingerboard (unbound) with pearl dot inlay Rosewood bridge & peghead veneer. Tortoise pickguard. Solid spruce top (of course) Chrome tuners Hope that helps. Possibly re-issued as a “Guitar of the Month”, I can’t remember. 2nd source: The Martin Book: A Complete History of Martin Guitars, Walter Carter, 1995, ISBN 1-871547-79-2 states a few differences: Body depth 4 1/8” Soundhole rings 5-9-5 grouping 6 ply top binding 3 ply back with tortoise shell outer layer, White bridge pins with tortoise dots, Zipper pattern (horizontal row between two diagonal lines) backstripes. Production: 110 Last edited by NotALuth; 03-22-2018 at 02:19 PM. Reason: Added second source and details |

When the M-64 was out, Martin also offered a more ornate version, the MC-68 with cutaway, oval soundhole, and upgraded inlay.
