While trying to figure out the fingering for this (which turned out to be rather easier than I thought) I discovered that this shape sounds lovely on a guitar tuned to open D

That could be adapted to a juicy (and easier) Emaj9: 0-9-6-8-0-0

How about E6/9? 0-11-11-11-0-0

These are all really effective when fingerpicked, of course, so you get the effect of the close intervals ringing together.
I love Bert's Eadd9 and your E6/9.

Hey, before Bert's Eadd9 (096900), try this A6/B: 7X7670. If you raise this fingering up one, you get a pretty C9.

C#m: X46640 (I use my thumb, but not necessary). Move this down one to X35530 for Cadd9.

I have some real stretchers like this E7add4: 079795. Use the middle finger to bar g and a strings and reach the e string with your index finger. Or Eadd4: 079995 barring B, G, and D strings with your pinky!

Here's an easy and beautiful Am13: X05530.

He used add9 chords a lot, but there's only one instance I know of him using that shape:

- notice he combines it with A(add9) played as 5-7-7-6-0-0.

Yes, great stuff. I have created some transpositions of some of these and embellishments of others, and I'll post shortly.

Here are some thoughts on Jon P's contribution:

Am)add9) is a nice one: (0)-0-7-5-0-0 Also 8 0 9 9 0 0

Bm(add4) (from Bert Jansch): 7-9-0-7-0-0

Here's a stretch!: x 2 4 6 3 0

Eadd9 (also one of Bert's): 0-9-6-9-0-0 Love it!
Here's an Aadd9 that's really beautiful: 9 0 9 9 0 0
That could be adapted to a juicy (and easier) Emaj9: 0-9-6-8-0-0
And here's a beautiful one in A (Amaj9): 9 0 9 9 9 0

How about E6/9? 0-11-11-11-0-0 Ahhh! I love it! Here's an equally beautiful A6/9: 9 0 9 11 0 0

Thanks again for sharing!!
