Default Acoustic Bass Generator Pedal?

Noticed a few people using some sort of bass generator pedal at a few shows recently which produced quite a pleasing sound, is this some sort of octave pedal?

I think you'll need to be more specific! Was someone playing a part on a guitar and a bass note was then coming out of the system to match? There are 'band in a box' pedals that play standard rhythm parts (bass and drums) per presets that are selected by the player.

Whatever the pedal was, just seemed to produce a bass guitar sound on the lower strings.

Quite a few octave pedals to choose from. For my purposes, the Boss OC-3 is preferred as it: a) tracks well, b) is polyphonic, c) has a low pass filter that helps limit the bass output to only those strings/notes desired, and d) allows the bass signal to be side-chained for separate processing. I'm not aware of any others that has this mixture of features. Its a useful tool for the solo performer, to be sure.
