Really beautiful guitar, which I would love to try if it's still in stock if I can make another trip to TAMCO. I'm in agreement with Robbie above, your builds are some of my favourite.

Would it be possible to ask what the tonal difference between normal sapele and the quilted pomelle figure sapele is? I played one Pomelle Sapele guitar in TAMCO and it produced a wonderful sound.

Sorry ... I'll have to repost these first two photos ... I reorganized them on photobucket and now the links don't work. Ugh!

More photos will be posted in the coming days.

I find that the highly figured sapele is less dense than the unfigured and that I treat it quite differently during the build process ... so much so that I don't really even consciously equate it as the same species. I love working with it though, and am really happy with the sound I'm getting.

Lovely guitar.

Sorry if this was already asked, but I didn't notice it.

In your opinion, is there a benefit to having the truss rod access at the headstock rather than the soundhole? I don't have a preference (and I have guitars both ways).

Hi Mooh ... I put the truss rod access at the peghead end just because I hate adjusting the rod through the soundhole ... just a pet peeve of mine.

I may screw up the nerve to record a quick and nasty audio file and post it in the next couple of days ... my playing chops aren't really up to it, but we'll see.

Thanks! My House guitars are like that too, and all my electrics.

Hey Leo ... you're right ... I didn't really get any great shots of the sides! They're very much of the same calibre as the back ... probably flitch cut. Thanks for dropping in!

That wood is nice. Could you explain what the build diary book is. Is it photos of this actual guitar or photos of you building in general?

Hey Jason ... thanks for dropping in on my thread! The "Build Diary" is a hardcover book with the photos from this posting (except in high resolution) of this actual guitar being built ... as well as some of the finished guitar photos.

Here's a few photos from another Build Diary to give you an idea.
