New (used) PA
I bought it from a friend for $20. I don't know the brand or anything. All I know is it has 4 channels with bass, treble and delay. As well as master volume and I guess some other master settings. It also has some stuff in the back for effects pedals and more speakers I guess. I really don't know. But I got the head, 2 10" floor speakers and 2 cables. All for $20. And he let me barrow a mic stand and mic cable.
I actually used to use the PA when I was in my death metal band (with this friend). So I know it has a lot of volume. We never played shows with it, because we played at bigger venues such as nightclubs and places with a PA system already there. But when we used it for practice (for the vocals) it cut though the guitars and drums just fine. And all I'm going to be doing is acoustic gigs at small clubs, bars, pubs and coffee houses. So it will be perfect for me. |

For the price, if it's usable at all I'd say you got a good deal!

I'd say you did pretty good. Here's the only other PA I could find for under $20.

After looking at it some more I found the brand on the back. It's a Hollinger 120. This is the exact thing right here; http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/musician...unt/PA1203.jpg
And the speakers are Cerwin Vega sm12. Which are basically floor monitors. I'm assuming they're not the best of brands. But it all works, and I've used it for a few years in the past. So its not junk that I bought from a stranger. I trust it. So its enough to get me by for now. |
