Default Leviora carbon fiber classical

Hi guys. Just trying to figure out how to post photos. Hope this works. A couple of months ago this landed in Houston for me. It's a truly traditional spec classical guitar made out of CF with koa trim. Definitely a different sound. Different. Loud too. But how fantastic to be able to take this with me on trips and not worry about changes in humidity/temperature etc. Came with a Hiscox case too.

I'll be heading out from Houston to Albany this week, and this baby will be along for the ride.

Incidentally, Thomas was great to work with. Highly recommended!

Beautiful guitar! Congrats on something so different, I'm sure it sounds fantastic. Is that a mini flex mic inside?

Really fine guitar you have there and seems quite rare in these parts... I played one a few times... heck.. probably even did a video about said guitar.

If I remember correctly, this guitar went on a road trip. Mr. K finds nylon string guitars almost irresistible and he was one of the first people in the U.S. to give it a run. He is an incredible musician and made the guitar sing. I wonder if he still has that video?

Yup, that's a miniflex in there. Specifically a Miniflex Model 5. I'm pretty impressed at the sound through a Fishman combo. Plugged in it holds its own against any amplified classical guitar. It just sounds good. ...and I'm fairly picky about the amplified sound of nylon strings.

The acoustic sound is quite piano-like, as others have indicated for CF steel string guitars. The bass is boomy, yet the trebles keep up and it's balanced overall. Perhaps less dynamic range than wood; in general it's a loud guitar.

Oh, one other thing...the intonation is superb. As an aside, I use D'Addario EJ45's on this (and on my wooden classicals).

Cool! I'm also very picky about tone, and I use a mini Flex model 2 (the non-permenant install version). They're some of the best sounding pickups I've heard on the market- I can't believe they don't get more love around here. Ken Donnell makes a great product!

Mr. K is incredibly modest. I've heard his piano and guitar play, and he is very good. But I've always felt that the nylon play was his most sensitive music. He's just dinking around on this video, but his dinking is classical. And I like it; he is a closet nylon player.
