Default Stings Comment

I have a guest performer recital this weekend so I put on new strings today. All I had on hand were d'Addario "Nylon" strings so I put them on. Anyway, after using d'Addario Dynacore strings (titanium trebs) for a long time and then trying their new carbon strings, the regular nylon are a let down. I get what I will call a "ukulele" tone from the nylon trebs. Not critisizing the brand--because I love d'addario Dynacore and Carbons-- but I may have to stop using regular nylons of all brands from here on out.
I may be done with regular nylon strings.

I've used nylon, carbon, and titanium strings. Never bonded with titaniums. I find carbon to have more clarity and sustain than nylon, but nylon has more richness and warmth. I do find that I have to work a little harder in the right hand to get the best from nylon. I used carbon for many years, but I've gradually come back to nylon again. What goes around comes around, I guess.

+1 for the clarity of carbons. I'm a big fan of Oasis carbons.

I have two classical guitars that both sound best with D'Addario carbons. My two vintage Martin nylon/gut string models seem to prefer Oasis carbons. YMMV!
