Default Real drummer click tracks

Are there apps to keep time in recording programs that keep time as a real drummer would, and not of the strictly mechanical metronome type, which tend to sound "wrong" and for me are hard to play with. My timing is quite good and my brain balks at the robot.

I would get some good midi loops and send that to a drum vsti, your DAW might have one built in. Good midi files won't have everything snapped to the grid and are often played by a real drummer on an ekit.

Superior drummer and ez drummer have a lot of midi drum loops built into them

MIDI programs often have a 'humanizer' plugin, too, which brings stuff off the the timeline grid as much/little as you want, however, they vary it constantly, so if you want it to match up to your playing, you need to render it first. The differences typically are really subtle (much moreso than a real drummer). I record to a steady EZ Drummer pattern, then edit the drum track once I've got most of the rhythm parts recorded, and then add the humanizer after.

i used to use the apple loops as they used an entire drum kit and didn't drive you crazy like a metronome. now, i use the drummer in logic and it is fantastic. check your DAW to see what may have been enclosed drum-wise.

play music!

The new garage band has sample drummers in it looks like too. Maybe the same as Logic? I've been thinking of a Mac Air with the newest GB.

There are real drum tracks in many patterns and just about any tempo you could want on Youtube.

Here's an example, there are MANY more on this channel and others:

For around 40 bucks you can get EZ Player Pro . Use the top part(browser) for basic grooves and the bottom part arranger to edit. There is no drum sampler included
but it has mappings for most. I think Superior comes with it. I use Steven Slate Drums Essentials which is on special from time to time
