Default Telecaster NGD

This is my first real electric guitar, always been strictly acoustic until now.

For the past month or so I've been fooling around with an old beater that a neighborhood kid left behind in his mom's attic, but that wasn't cutting it.

Haven't even got the stickers off it yet!

I promise you I was not standing on the wall when I took these pics

Congrats on your new Tele. I've been obsessed with them lately, for good reason, they are great guitars. Enjoy yours to the fullest!

Enjoy! A new to me Tele is on my list to get in 2024. I've an electric ukulele I need to sell first and then it's time to go shopping.

A Player, a Player Pro or something close to is what I'm looking for.

Enjoy getting to know the new guitar. Like the blue!

Good choice, I have a similar Tele in a different color. Very well thought out, solid, mainstream guitar. Good pickups IMO, maybe not quite "vintage" sounding but definitely in that neighborhood. The neck pickup on mine sounds wonderful, the bridge sounds like...well, it sounds like the bridge pickup on a Telecaster!

Nice! I've had a love/hate relationship with Teles for almost 30 years now. I picked up a Fender Vintera II Nocaster a couple weeks ago and I'm back in love again.

There's just something magical about a Tele...

Very nice! One of my favorite colors. Teles are great workhorses. The Players series are very well made. Nicely done. Play in good health, friend.

Nice one Bob! Now all you need is a Strat!

Congratulations on that guitar. I share the view of many that the Telecaster is perfect in every way. If as a primary acoustic player you eventually find yourself asking "what do I do with this thing?" ; post here. I've adapted what I do on acoustic to electric and back again.

In my experience, that process starts with two things:

Play more lightly.

Learn to damp.

Yes indeed. I used to set up telecasters with 12s, sometimes flatwounds. I wanted them to feel like an acoustic. I've gone back to 10s and low action. When I learned to play with a lighter touch I also stopped strangling my acoustics. My tone and speed were over time much improved.

Hard to beat a good Tele. They can really do it all in the right hands. Nice guitar!
