Owned 100+ used guitars since 1970, 6-16 at a time, mostly electric planks. 2-3 dozen tube amps, drum sets and basses too.
Bought low (local and in-person via classified ads and Craigslist), figured out how to make repairs/improvements, learned a lot about instruments, sold higher (always reasonable), built-up and thinned the herd in waves, gigged with the keepers and enjoyed owning (essentially) free gear as a result. Currently pretty happy with 4 well set-up acoustics that I play at open mics. Next one will come from 50+ years of proceeds too. After that (depending on what I get), I'll start paying for guitars again. Last edited by tinnitus; 03-14-2024 at 05:34 PM. |

Money goes into the cash stash at home; or deposit into bank if cash stash has enough money already. I don't maintain a war chest/track spending on my guitar/music hobby because I don't spend that much.
