Default 12-fret, short-scale, small body, 1 3/4 nut recommendations under $1000?

My budget is $1000 and below, primarily a couch guitar and/beach guitar (not in the sand .) All solid if possible. Let me know your thoughts...and Merry Christmas.

The best opportunity you'll have is a used Taylor GC or x12. I would think and GC3 or GC4 could easily be found for sub $1K. I'd also keep an option for others; you can sometimes find a GC5, GC6, GC7, or GC8 for a few hundred more.

Another option is a Larrivee Parlor.

Maybe look at this guys Rainsong, (no affiliation)
I played one of those a couple years ago and thought it felt great and sounded good for its size

I'm not turp, but I have a Taylor 322 (hog top, but available as spruce top, too) which meets the specifications.
I had to keep an eye peeled for a 14 fret because the vast majority of these are sold as 12 frets to the body. I purchased pre-owned, less than a year old and way under the $1000 mark.
Not content to be relegated to only the couch, this is a superb instrument that's going to be around here a LONG time.

I've sent several emails to Godin practically begging them to make some 12-fret versions of their Seagull "folk"-sized guitars. If they did, they could shut up and take my money. I think they would be a huge success and a perfect guitar for your needs.

But they haven't done it yet. Maybe a few people here at the AGF could email them a similar request? They might just do it if they hear from enough of us.

Presenting, for your consideration, the Eastman E10 00-M. All solid, flamed Mahogany, 12-fret to the body, short scale, 1 3/4” nut, thin nitro-laquer finish, lightly built to be very responsive, with rich tone and overtones. Price: just under $1000.

Mine came from Ted & Helene at LA Guitar Sales. . Surprising amount of overtones; more so than you would expect with mahogany. Awesome size and very light weight for the sofa.

There is a pono-op10 acacia sides and back, cedar top slot head short scale on reverb now. I would buy it myself but prefer a spruce top.
