Solid Body Nylon Classical \ Electric Recommendations
Looking to get a solid body (IE, THIN) classical electric guitar to scratch my itch for nylon strings. I have a budget of around $1K.
What's out there? Godin Multiac? Chet Atkins model? thanks

Its well under your budget limit (forum rules prohibit posting specific guitar prices), but you'd still want to audition one before purchasing, or purchase with a good return policy in place. Gary

I used to have a Gibson Chet Atkins nylon-string electric. Gibson no longer makes it. I replaced that Gibson with a Kirk Sand which was better. In fact, the Gibson was inspired by one of Kirk Sands models and I understand Kirk Sand was consulted during the development of Gibson's nylon-string electric. Unfortunately, the Kirk Sand guitars are considerably more than $1,000. I've played the Godins but though I haven't tried the Carvin, I'd probably go for a Carvin. I'd have 10 days to try it and return it if I didn't like it.

guild also used to have a custom shop offering the guild paloma. it was built by the guy who designed the chet atkins. i bought this guitar around 2000 after checking the godin, the chet atkins, and founding it much superior.
 at your price range i would also consider the epiphone chet atkins which is a good value guitar for the money. but i 'd probably go with a godin (proven professional solution - i 've seen it so many times used by pros).. funny cause right now i m shopping for a steel string solid body acoustic.. but left handed..

Well, things change rapidly with me and they did last night. I was bidding on a Godin Multiac last night and didn't win it because the auction went just above my self imposed limit as to what I was going to pay for that guitar. I had been watching another one with a buyitnow option and had intended to get that one. Well, by the time I clicked over to it; it was gone! Someone bought it immediately at the end of the first Godin's auction.
Well, I'd been watching a Taylor NS42C with some interest and noticed that the time left on the auction was <1m, which means 'less than one minute'. I thought "What the heck, I'll never get it for my price limit. I clicked on it and entered my maximum bid and won the dern thing! I was absolutely shocked and not expecting it at all! I wound up getting it for a shade more than half the price new. It was a one owner guitar that had just been professionally set up last week. Today I shopped around for the amp to play with this guitar and wound up with the UltraSound AG50DS4. According to many's testimony and experience with these; I didn't figure I could go wrong. Now, here's the 'icing on the cake': Both are due to arrive on my Birthday!!! WhoooooooHooooooo! Thanks for letting me celebrate  vtg
