I couldn't find the gauge chart. They published the tension chart though. So we don't really know the gauge on each string.

They say they will market by tension rating, not string gauge. Like the way Santa Cruz does theirs. They don't say what tensions will be available, apparently they will be releasing Light only initially.

As soon as Martin replies to my email I'll click buy preorder now! How can one say no to nickel wound round core titanium strings oohyah
Edit: they better come with warning like how Pyramid goes dead if you trim the strings before tightening. Last edited by cspencer; 01-14-2017 at 06:05 PM. |

oh lordy the can't help themselves - sell sell sell - any ol' how, they have no shame.
nickel is a deal breaker for me. Intonation problems regarding the mass / diameter of the core - ?? Quote:

If you can afford the guitar you can afford the strings- however, $40 bucks is getting a bit steep, makes my santa cruz strings seem less exorbitant

$40 may be the MSRP. Retailers may discount them, find out when they hit the big dealers.

At 40 bucks a set I'd need a cosigner

Maybe so but the rohrbacher titanium strings I had a few years back lasted an year and half with no loss of tone. Could have kept them longer but I wanted to try something different. Those cost $30 at the time. WE'll see how these are.

Same here! I'll let somebody else spend that 40 bucks, then decide. I would want an even benefit across the strings, not just the highs or lows, and improved sustain and volume, staying in tune, bendability etc.

I'm fairly certain that the initial brave souls who spring for the $40 strings will likely have nothing but "amazing" results. ;-). The second wave of buyers will be mixed. Then, with the third wave, it will be 50/50 like EVERY other tone subjective guitar item in the world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

If you want to know what titanium strings sound like here you go.
I have no idea how similar Martin's will be. Last edited by Rosewood99; 01-15-2017 at 09:34 AM. |

Not the sound I'm after, although it's hard to know how much of what I'm hearing is the strings per se.

Yeah, that Silvercreek is not a high end guitar. When I owned them I recall they were a bit mellow and seemed to be better suited to fingerstyle. The reminded me of nickel strings.
