Default My M80 and effects experience

I have been trying to create a new tone. In one side I’m using a Lyric/Venue/Session for a clean acoustic tone and on the other Side I’m running different effects.Baggs M80/ SP Compressor/Stellar drive/JHS Angry Charlie/ Strymon timeline/Strymon Blue Sky/orange CR15c.
My only problem is with this Angry Charlie. It’s makin a Lot of feedback. I just want to have an overdrive to play Chords (Stellar drive is great for that) and a distortion for certain heavy parts. Any suggestions?

You're asking a lot of an acoustic guitar. Sounds like the wrong tool for the job to me. Maybe get a Les Paul or an SG and rock on? Good luck with your search!

Try using the M80 in passive mode. This bypasses the preamp in the M80 which means it loses Baggs' pre eq and also delivers a lower output which might work better with your pedals.

Thanks! I did that and did some adjustments on the amp and pedal and I got a really interesting tone for an acoustic. I really like how it sounds blended with the clean tone.

Glad it helped. Now try tweaking the polepieces to even out string to string response and magnetic/body sensing output.....the higher the polepieces, the less body resonance is output. Make a note of where they were set before you start tweaking

I like the sound OK from my M80 in passive mode, but even with a short high quality cable and a good pedal preamp, I found it too noisy.

Sounds like a Godin A6 might solve your problems in a more elegant way - it's the tool that's designed for the job you're asking your acoustic to do.

Interesting idea. However, I am really in loved with My Hummingbird and the natural sound of the Baggs Lyric. Thanks for the suggestion.
