Default Fishman rare earth p/u fine tuning

Just installed a Fishman Rare earth only p/u in my Yairi. Sounds good but the high E and B are coming thru pretty hot. I shimmed the low side up a bit to even out the lows but its still a bit hot. I'm using John Pearse p/b type strings as they suggest. Anyone else experience this and what did you do to smooth it out?

You can cut down the cork on the treble side. That's about the only way I can think of. Hope this helps.

I found nickel based strings such as Martin Retro and D’addario nickel bronze evened out the strings with a rare earth pup I had in a previous guitar.
I only discovered this by accident. I bought the guitar used and swapped out the PB strings for Retros which are my go to strings and it evened out the string balance.

Thanks Nick84, I'll give it a try.

Great suggestion, i did this and it did help. I also shimmed up the bass side of the Fishman.
