Default Excellent!!! 2007 Marc Beneteau Concert Cutaway

2007 Marc Beneteau Concert Cutaway:::$5499.99!!!

I bought this wonderful guitar 1 year ago. I originally listed it back in the summer as you can see but just decided to find funds for studio purchases elsewhere. This guitar is just too great to let go! However, I have to list it now due to tuition for my daughter. It stinks to let it go but it's one of the most expensive pieces I have and I just can't justify keeping it when I have bills to pay. This is in excellent+ condition and I am pricing it to sell! I know it's common to flip guitars around here but this is not one I intended to sell. It sounds amazing, has perfect playability and intonation. It sounds enormous! The Mun Ebony back and sides look beautiful and sound as close to my Brazilian Beauregard as I have ever heard any guitar sound without being Brazilian. I sell all the time on Ebay username: TCDguitars. Been on there for 15 years and have a perfect seller rating. I'll pay the shipping to you in the USA.

Here is what was written by the previous owner:

It sounds as good as it looks. Strong basses, clear trebles and lots of sustain and volume. Great for flatpicking or fingerpicking. This one is almost untouched. There is only one small pinhead mark on the top that will not show in the photos. It sounds and plays like a dream. My experience with high end buyers would have me give this a more cautious 9.6/10 as there may be some faint fabric swirling in the right light.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Venetian Cutaway
Mun Ebony back and sides
Spruce top (Sitka)
Arm rest and Side Sound port options
Bubinga binding
Mun Ebony fretboard
Body Length: 20 3/8
Upper Bout: 11 5/8
Lower Bout: 16
Body Depth @Neck Heel: 3 7/8
Body Depth @Tail Block: 4 3/8
Scale Length: 25 1/4
Nut Width: 1 3/4
Strings Spacing: 2 1/4
OHSC - double arched top case...very nice!

When I got the guitar, I contacted the builder for a little background... below is his email to me.

Hi Don,

The back & sides on your guitar are indeed Ebony but quite a rare type called Mun Ebony. I believe it originates in Laos or Cambodia (I've been told both) and was originally sold to me as Macassar Ebony. One look at it told me that this was not Macassar (I've worked with Macassar Ebony a lot) but a very beautiful relative. I was lucky to buy enough for several guitars. Very striking and unique.

Best regards,

Marc

With the options this guitar has, it would be close to $8,000 to order a new one. Not sure of wait times."

Default nice!

that armrest looks like burlwood.

i'll bet this one is a hummer. beneteau's another luthier whose passion is for tone and sonics. thus, a thin finish that allows the tonewoods to do there job.

great pricing.

Smile From Marc Beneteau

This is from Marc himself

Mun Ebony will give a slightly darker tone than Indian Rosewood. Mun is a dense wood with a lower resonant frequency so responds a little slower. Indian RW is a bit brighter and lighter in weight so responds quicker.

Either will give a high degree of clarity with clear individual notes and good projection.

Smile Yes, bump for Beneteau

This looks like an amazing guitar. I love the playability, looks and sound of my Beneteau concert standard. It's a keeper for sure. It has great dynamics and volume, and a full, resonant, woody/earthy tone.

When I did my custom build with Marc in 2008/2009, Marc sent me some photos of a lovely Mun ebony set he still had left. I was very tempted to go that way. It's nice to see a finished Mun ebony Beneteau, and it looks as spectacular as I had imagined.

Best of luck with the sale, and sorry you have to sell such a nice guitar.
