Ngd "a blast from the past 68 harmony rocket)
So at last the long wait is over . I first place this guitar in 2008 . And asked if he would sell . And time and time again he replied " mom would kill me " last night I got an message of Facebook " wanna buy the harmony I figured you deserved first shot" so I'm doing payments because I'm a broke fella who works 20 hours a week . But I guess it's all in the past

Love that old Harmony cherry 'burst - one of those in an earlier incarnation ('63) was almost my first electric guitar (wound up getting a '64 Gretsch Double Annie instead), and the lead guitarist in a band I was in during the mid-70's had one he used for slide. Not too many survivors, especially the post-'64 versions - most of the latter were discarded when they succumbed to the ravages of hasty construction, poor-quality kiln-dried woods (in the days before everyone obsessed about humidification), and New Brunswick (NJ) Black Diamond strings (which were often your only option at the local mom-&-pop music studio/store or record shop); BTW if you haven't done so already, loosen the strings and tighten up those neck bolts - made a major difference in tone on our old lead player's Rocket...
Use it well, often, and - given that Mesa Boogie in the photo - LOUD...

I think it looks great! Great bucket rash in the back too - I'm wondering how that came about seeing there's rash on top and on bottom.

i played bass back then, but i always thought those HK's had a great sound, id like to get one myself someday when affordable

I bought one of these at a pawn shop (one pup). But a Danelectric long horn bass neck on it. Sanded it down and put on a coat of clear. Made a nice bass and the gold foil pup did a pretty good job on a bass.
I regret "destroying" some vintage (today) instruments back then. But had a lot of fun.

since the gibsons and fenders are way over the top, the harmonys, sears and the like are becoming more expensive and coveted.
great looking guitar. huge belt buckle rash. that's mojo. i think i have that same boogie. play music!

So After 3 days here’s my verdict . The neck is narrow and slightly smaller and that is nice . I can wrap my hand around it and use my thumb for cording if I needed to . The action is super low without buzz . The lowest I’ve seen in years . The gold foil pickups have a vary unique voice to them . I’m not much of a fan of the bridge pickup but the neck pickup it’s like o my . It’s a single coil that doesn’t sound like it’s starving for tone . It is fat and juicy and clear , takes a over driven amp well . Tonally it reminds me of bands like queens of the Stone Age , arctic monkeys , stoned foxes ect . If you have the chance to get one don’t pass it up.
Ps I cleaned the fretboard what a mess
