Small, easy to play, good sound, should work just fine.

I think you made the right decision, nobody will know better than what you really want.
If it fits you then do it,and later on if you don't like it then you can change it anytime to anything that your heart desires. I recalled the ex-rolling stone bass player (Bill Wyman) used to used the Vox bass that has very narrow neck and also short scale, he used it for a while before changed it back.
