Maybe a bad choice of words, but why put lipstick on a pig? Maybe better to focus efforts on getting something whose sound overrides its looks.

Guitar Center probably won't give you much.
Guitar "blue books" exist, but I haven't found any for free. You might want to try Craigslist and eBay to get a ball park figure for your Ovation. You'll then want to lower the price to account for the busted pre-amp and any other cracks/blemishes -- no one would pay the going rate for a flawed item, so a fair discount would give you a better chance of actually making the sale.
