Nice job. Way better than anything I can do. I'll admit that I thought this was going to be Christmas related base on the title. Speaking of which, I recently gave a friend a simple gift. Cost less than $1. It was a guitar pick that just happen to match the color of his new motorcycle. Actually, it was $0. I found it. He was happy to receive it and thought it was cool. I love giving people stuff.

To the OP, I'm not knowledgable enough to read music but I can figure out tablature if I know what the song sounds like. Any chance that music I think you're reading also includes tablature? If so where can I get it.

Nice arrangement, nicely played! Really nice big plus that this arrangement is well within reach of the average player!
The "Home run" arrangement of "Simple Gifts" can be found in Volume 2 of Parkening's "Sacred Music for Classical Guitar". The tuning is 6 to D & 5 to G. The arrangement starts in G, modulates to D, then drops 6 to C in successive half steps as part of the arrangement and modulates to C for the final verse. Rick Foster also has a nice arrangement in "More Hymns for Classical Guitar". |
