I hate to say it but at a certain level you either have it or you don't. I'm in the same boat as you. Honestly I can't nail not one single piece I ever learned. I can't get through it without mistakes. I just settled for the fact that I still enjoy playing the guitar and I can still make it sound good for others and that's good enough.

I can play basketball too but I'll never be a Michael Jordan.

All good stuff. Technique I am hearing is very important as is "feel" and not practicing mistakes over and over again. I need to rethink my approach.

The best and easiest way to master a piece is to learn it and then give it your own style and colour.
