Default Giannii classical

hi; I found an old Gianinni [ I think that's how it's spelled] in a music shop today . I know nothing about it. it's like 3/4 size. hardshell case. plays well... the guy wants $260 for it. is that a good price? thanks.

If the guitar is in good shape structurally, and if the hard case is at all decent, I'd think the asking price is about as low as playable guitar could go for - maybe ask them to knock off a few bucks for the 3/4 size. Seems these guitars used to be made in huge volumes in Brasil, but they were of varied qualities back in the day and I think there's a newer knock-off brand running with the same name. Could you find a date or model number on it? Personally, if I found a nice looking instrument with no structural issues and a healthy neck-to-bridge relationship with plenty of saddle, I'd be pretty happy around that price point. But that's because I'm casually in the market for a 3/4 or 7/8 classical these days. I'll bet someone on here knows a lot more about the brand than I do, just give it a few days! Good luck.

Hi Eyesore, Giannini guitars are still being manufactured in Brazil and
they have a reputation for good guitars. Check their website. I believe
you are probably looking at their student 3/4 size guitar. You will find the
specs on their site. The price seems reasonable and more so if the case
is half decent. If you are just starting with classical a 3/4 guitar is a good
starting point in terms of ease of playing and with fretted chords. Good
luck on your endeavor. Regards
Norman
PS: If the Giannini is vintage it would be better to get it instead of a used
guitar made in China
