I'll certainly do my best to! I don't have any equipment at the house to make a decent recording with, but I might be able to head over to a friend's studio when I get it...

Here's a few pictures that I've gotten up to this point. I'll update as I get more. Thanks for looking!!!

Nope, hasn't made it here yet, as we were worried about it sitting in a warehouse over the holiday weekend. I hope to have it before the end of the week, though!!! I'll keep you posted as I find out more...

OK, so...the guitar arrived last week and I've had a little time to spend with it. It's absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see it "mature" in the months/years to come. Here are a few pictures I took of it this morning before coming to work (and before the temps got above 90!!!). Thanks for looking!!!!

Looks great, Jason! I did not get a chance to see it before it left the shop, so I'm glad you took these pics.

How's the weight? I find John's guitars to be incredibly light and responsive, and would suspect this one to be the same.

I like the Schertler tuners John is using - classy and they work smoothly as well.

Thanks for sharing ... hoping to hear some clips or reviews of what kinds of tones and characteristics you are getting out of that beauty!

I have to say, Phil, that you nailed the description better than I could, incredibly light and responsive. When I first picked up the guitar, I almost wondered if there was anything inside of it from how light it was (and Honduran RW is one of the heaviest woods out there to use). Playing this is nothing short of a joy and since it weighs hardly anything, I can play it for hours without disruption. Now, carrying the case is a different matter, but I'll get a case cover for it with backstraps for that .

Yes, I was such a huge fan of those Schertler tuners that I had to have them on this guitar. Waverlys are great and all, but these are far superior in smoothness and accuracy IMO.

Well, I hope to make some sound clips of it sometime in the near future if I can get to a friends house to do some recording. I don't have anything at the house besides my laptop (and no mic), so I don't think I'd do it justice with just that. Even though I've only had it a week, it's already opened up so much in that timespan that I can only imagine how much better it will get. This is definitely a lifetime guitar for me!!!

Default Nice SD-43!

Jason,

That's a beauty! Love the tonewood and fretboard choices you've made. John makes an incredibly responsive guitar, doesn't he?

Enjoy! John H.

Thanks everybody for the nice complements!!! John really outdid himself with this one!!!

It's amazing how much more detail is put into a hand-built guitar versus those from a shop. I've even got a custom shop instrument from Breedlove, and while it's very well built, it's nowhere near the quality, fit, or finish of John's guitar. I highly recommend investing money in a lifetime instrument from John. I have no doubt you will not be disappointed!!!
