Thanks for all the responses. Very helpful. I'm glad to know most people don't think it needs a major overhaul but it's mostly from the management side that it needs upgrading and reorganizing.

OK, that's 2 votes against new windows. Does anyone besides me like to have the option of having more than one photo open at a time to compare/contrast. Maybe there's a slide viewer plug-in that has an option for open photos in a new window.

You're not alone. I used to have them there and I honestly don't remember how or why they got dropped but that is on my list of things to add.
