Default Applegate SJ Brazilian

Hi I'm Caleb from Korea.
I'd like to share some photos of my Custom built Applegate.

https://www.woodsound.co.kr:10543/bb...guitar2&no=233
please click the link and click each photo to enlarge

Specs
Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides (originally from J. Olson, dried for 50 years)
Adirondak Top
7piece Neck
Ryan Style Bevel
Side port with Celtic(I think) image
Brazilian Bridge
Brazilian Rosette
Gotoh 510 with Black Knob
Hoffee Case
I've replaced the pins with Dark Premium FWI pins. Little longer sustain and a bit more fat treble.

Many people say it sounds like Olson guitars. I love its versatility.
Currently I'm waiting for my Fredell M (African Blackwood and Swiss Moon Spruce)

Never had the good fortune to play an Applegate. It looks beautiful.

Did Brian learn his trade from James Olson? I seem to remember that he did.

How long did it take for him to build it for you?

Bill

Great looking guitar. I live in the same area as Brian (Twin Cities, Mn) and was able to play a number of guitars from his early career. My Favorite Guitars used to be located in Mn and Brian had some of his guitars at that shop.

Brian also attended a Twin Cities AGF Get Together a number of years ago. He brought 2 guitars for our group to try out. One was his personal archtop and another was a 00 size I believe. Here's a link to a thread about that get together; it has some photos of Brian and the guitars he brought.

That's what I heard.
He learned almost everything from Jim and they're still good friends.

It took about 6 months to complete but then Calton sort of bankrupt at the time.
It took about 12 months for the guitar to be in my hands.
