Enjoyed the movie, and recently read “Jimi Hendrix,” by Sharon Lawrence. The book goes into great detail about Hendrix's troubled family history, in addition to very insightful observations from her friendship with him, and the toll taken by ill advised recording contracts, legal battles, being used by self serving "friends", and the events and circumstances of his death. The last half of the book details the crass exploitation of his musical legacy by his father and adopted sister, who Hendrix barely new.

Jimi seems so laid back and relaxed in those interviews, and so far out too. Sign of the times. |
